Is your browser protected? Websites that mimic trusted services to collect your passwords/payments often appear at the top of web results

We highly recommend the free browser extension Malwarebytes Browser Guard to help prevent threats when browsing the web.

Heartbleed – what you need to know

An encryption flaw called the Heartbleed bug is already being called one of the biggest security threats the Internet has ever seen. The bug has affected many popular websites and services — ones you might use every day, like Gmail and Facebook — and could have quietly exposed your sensitive account information (such as passwords and credit card numbers) over the past two years.

While important to change your passwords now – reflect on that last sentence for a moment – “exposed account information over two years…”  Yes, it is possible anything sensitive you’ve written online to an exposed site to be in the hands of the ‘enemy’, hackers.

CNET has an exhaustive *live* list (constantly updated) of what the top 100 websites that have been affected are, and their patch status. It can be located here: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/which-sites-have-patched-the-heartbleed-bug/
